This curriculum builds a solid foundation in Algebra 1 fundamentals. Each week focuses on a cluster of
related skills, moving from arithmetic foundations through equation-solving, inequalities, linear relationships, systems
of equations, and factoring. Students complete daily guided practice, then apply their skills to a curated set of 21
fully-worked practice problems spanning 7 core topics.
Learning Objectives
• Apply the order of operations to simplify numerical expressions accurately.
• Solve one-step, two-step, and multi-step equations, including equations with variables on both sides.
• Solve and graph linear inequalities, correctly reversing the inequality sign when required.
• Calculate slope and write linear equations in slope-intercept and point-slope form.
• Solve systems of linear equations using substitution and elimination.
• Factor polynomial expressions and simplify algebraic expressions by combining like terms.
Materials Needed
• Graph paper and pencil
• Scientific calculator (non-graphing)
• Practice Problems & Solutions packet (included in this document)
